Siddartha Development Ethiopia (SDE)
Our Story
Siddartha Development Ethiopia was officially registered by the Ministry of Justice in Ethiopia on May 16, 2001, and later re-registered by the Charities and Societies Agency (CSA) in accordance with the new proclamation no. 621/2009 and by Authority for Civil Society Organization in accordance with the Civil Society Proclamation No. 1113/2019. Since its inception, SDE has been committed to providing support to underprivileged members of society, with the goal of helping them become self-sufficient. To achieve this objective, the organization carries out various projects funded by SDE VZW, which receives contributions from a wide range of people, professionals, and volunteers.

The projects focus on improving the socio-economic conditions of street children, homeless people, women-led households, children living with HIV/AIDS (OVC), elderly people, vulnerable children, adolescents, and youth. The primary aim of SDE is to empower its beneficiaries by creating socio-economic opportunities for them. SDE is expanding its collaboration effort and work with a wide range of organizations and individuation to continue effect positive social contribution in Ethiopia.

In 2023, SDE Inc. achieved the prestigious 501(c)(3) status, solidifying its position as a non-profit organization in the United States. The dedicated board members, who are based in the United States, work tirelessly to orchestrate fundraising efforts that fuel SDE Inc.'s impactful projects in Ethiopia. These initiatives are designed to bring about positive social change in Ethiopian through a focus on diverse and sustainable development projects.
