Our Logo & Its Interpretation

The seagull serves as a powerful symbol of human potential to surpass limits and reach new heights. In Siddartha, this concept is highlighted as a core value through the perseverance and determination represented by the seagull. Inspired by Jonathan Livingston Seagull, SDE underscores our capacity to achieve greatness and overcome challenges.

Siddartha’s logo features two elements arranged in perspective, each symbolizing a distinct world. For example, one could represent Ethiopia while the other signifies Belgium or the Western world, or one could depict Man and the other Woman. The challenge is to discover one's place within these worlds, as neither is superior to or more significant than the other. The starting point could be to embrace Siddartha's spirit.

Many individuals tend to adhere to their daily routines and are often constrained by their biases and preconceptions, which makes them feel secure within their comfort zones. However, Siddartha has advocated for over 45 years that we should continually expand our horizons and break free from the cycle of habits and prejudices. The seagull serves as an inspiring example of transcending boundaries, and as an organization, we strive to challenge and motivate everyone to do the same. We possess more qualities within us than we often realize.
